DAVID DOMINÉ'S LOUISVILLE HISTORIC TOURS | RECOMMENDED BY THE NEW YORK TIMES | AS SEEN ON HBO

Privacy Policy

Louisville Historic Tours (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a tour operator based in Louisville, Kentucky. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through louisvillehistorictours.com, how we use it, and the limited situations in which it is shared. It also explains that most of your booking and payment information is handled by the third-party platforms we use to sell and run tours, not by us.

By using our website or contacting us, you agree to the practices described here.

Who we are

Louisville Historic Tours is a Kentucky-based tour business. You can reach us about this policy or about your information at:

What we collect directly

We try to collect only what we need to answer questions and run tours. Depending on how you use the site, we may collect:

  • Your name, email address, and phone number when you contact us or submit a form
  • The content of messages or inquiries you send us
  • Details about a private group or special event request
  • Reviews, comments, or photos you choose to share with us

We do not ask you to send sensitive personal information, and we ask that you not include it in messages to us.

Bookings and payments are handled by third parties

When you buy tickets or reserve a tour, that transaction is processed and stored by an outside booking platform, not by Louisville Historic Tours directly. Depending on the tour and how you book, that platform may be FareHarborViator (a Tripadvisor company)GetYourGuide, or another booking or event-ticketing service.

These platforms collect your booking and payment information directly through their own systems and store it under their own privacy policies and security practices. We do not store full payment card numbers, and we do not control the records these platforms keep. We receive only limited details from them, such as your name, the tour you booked, and confirmation status, so we can run the tour.

If you want to access, correct, or delete the information tied to a booking, that request needs to go to the platform you booked through, because they hold those records. We will help point you to the right place when we can.

Some special events are ticketed through RedPintix, which also collects and stores your information under its own policy.

Cookies, analytics, and advertising

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, remember preferences, understand how visitors use our pages, and support advertising. This may include tools such as Google Analytics for measuring website traffic and Google Ads for advertising. When these tools are in use, they may set cookies and automatically collect information such as your IP address, browser and device information, and how you use our site, which Google processes under its own privacy policy.

You can control or block cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of personalized Google advertising at adssettings.google.com. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the site work.

Reviews and photos

We may display customer reviews on our website that were posted publicly on platforms such as Viator and Google, including the reviewer’s name or initials and rating as shown on those platforms. We also use photos taken during our tours in our marketing, including on our website and social media. If you appear in a photo we use and have concerns about it, or you believe a review shown on our website should not appear there, contact us and we will consider the request.

How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to questions and inquiries
  • Arrange and run tours, including private groups and events
  • Send booking-related messages such as confirmations and reminders
  • Improve our website and customer experience
  • Protect our business and comply with legal and tax obligations

Who we share information with

We share information only as needed to run the business. That includes:

  • Booking, ticketing, and payment platforms (such as FareHarbor, Viator/Tripadvisor, and RedPintix) that process your reservations
  • Google, where we use the website analytics and advertising tools described above
  • Professional advisors, such as our accountant
  • Authorities, when we are legally required to do so, or to protect our rights, our guests, or our business

We do not sell your personal information for money.

Visitors from outside Kentucky and outside the United States

Louisville Historic Tours operates in Kentucky and primarily serves visitors to the Louisville area. Our website and business operations are based in the United States, and the limited information we hold directly is maintained here.

If you book a tour from outside the United States through a platform such as Viator or GetYourGuide, that booking is handled by the platform under its own privacy policy, including any obligations it has under the privacy laws of your country.

State privacy laws

Some U.S. states, including California and Kentucky, have privacy laws that give residents rights over their personal data. Those laws apply to businesses above certain size and data-volume thresholds. Based on its size and the limited volume of data it handles, Louisville Historic Tours does not currently meet those thresholds, and it does not sell personal data.

If you booked through a third-party platform, that platform may have its own obligations under these laws for the data it holds about you, and you can contact the platform directly to exercise any rights you have.

Your choices and requests

For information you sent us directly, such as an email or contact-form message, you can ask us to update or remove it and we will do our best to honor reasonable requests, subject to any records we are required to keep for tax or legal reasons.

For booking and payment information, that data is held by the booking platform you used, so requests to access, correct, or delete it should be directed to that platform.

To reach us about any of this, email info@louisvillehistorictours.com.

How long we keep information

We keep the information we hold directly only as long as we reasonably need it to answer your inquiry, run your tour, keep accurate business and tax records, and meet legal obligations. Booking and payment records are retained by the booking platforms under their own retention practices.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the limited information we hold, such as restricting access and keeping our systems up to date. No website or system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. The booking and payment platforms we use maintain their own security measures for the transaction data they store.

Children

Our website and tours are intended for a general audience and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version here with a new “last updated” date.
